embouchure question

when i set my embouchure, should my lower lip go over my teeth at all? should it stay in front of them? does it matter?

No. Your lower lip should not go over your teeth. Best way to set your chops:

Say Mmmmmmmm Place the mp to your lips and buzz. There is your natural embouchure. Neil King

okay thanks. is there anything i should expect when switching from my old embouchure of two years to this one? how do i know when im doing it right since im expecting there is going to be a drop in range initially, etc...

I wish I could see you in person to help you. You really need to find a teacher that can watch you and your chops to check out your set up. You will suffer some range issues, endurance etc..but just play some long tones and watch yourself in a mirror to get things working again. Play softly...
