On August 8 and 13, 2008, Wynton will play at Marciac Jazz Festival with his Septet and Quintet.
The first concert will be performed at the Chapiteau by his Septet: Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Roberts (to be confirmed), Reginald Veal, Herlin Riley, Wess Anderson, Wycliffe Gordon and Victor Goines.
The second performance will take place on August 13 and will feature the Quintet: Wynton Marsalis, Dan Nimmer, Carlos Henriquez, Walter Blanding, Ali Jackson, with Richard Galliano. Wynton will also give two Master Classes on August 10 and 15.

Next June, Wynton and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) will tour Canada for some concerts in Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Vitoria.

Today, January 16, Wynton and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) are in Ann Arbour (MI) for the first performance of “Ellington Love Songs Tour” across North America (from January through Februry 12). Read an article about the event on the Ann Arbor News.
Please check the complete tour schedule with more info about venues and tickets. The tour will end in New York City, with 3 dates at Rose Hall (JALC). We also added new tour dates for March and April.

Yesterday September 8, 2007, Wynton and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) were in Baltimore to start their “Jazz Masterpieces Tour” across North America (from September 8 through October 3).
Tomorrow they will play in Morgantown (WV). Check the complete tour schedule with more info about venues.

Wynton and the Jazz art Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) will embark on their Jazz Masterpieces Tour across North America from September 8 through October 3, kicking off concerts and events to celebrate the big band’s 20th anniversary. Check the new tour dates.
JLCO personnel for this tour includes: music director and trumpet: Wynton Marsalis; trumpets: Ryan Kisor, Brandon Lee, Marcus Printup; trombones: Chris Crenshaw, Vincent Gardner, Elliot Mason; reeds: Walter Blanding, Victor Goines, Sherman Irby, Ted Nash, Joe Temperley; piano: Dan Nimmer; bass: Carlos Henriquez; drums: Ali Jackson.

Yesterday afternoon, from 2pm to 5.30 pm Wynton and his Quintet rehearsed with Jared Grimes (tap dancer) and speakers from Sweet Honey & Rock. They played some fresh new music, never released before…The young tap dancer (24 years old) is fantastic and fitted perfectly in Wynton’s music.
Today, at 4pm we will do sound check, and concert will take place at 11pm at the “Chapiteau” in Marciac. You can listen to it live on Radio France Inter (click the link on top-left: écoutez le direct)

This afternoon Wynton and the Quintet arrived in Marciac for the Jazz Festival 2007. This is the program for all his activities in Marciac:
July 30: At 5 pm Wynton will speak at Jazz in Marciac’s 30th Opening Ceremony at the Café Musique, by the lake.
August 1: Rehearsals with the Quintet, Jared Grimes and speakers from Sweet Honey & Rock.
August 2: Concert at 11 pm. The Wynton Marsalis Quintet* with special guest Jared Grimes.

Yesterday afternoon, at 4:40 PM Wynton was on stage at Parc Floral de Paris with his Quintet, to play at Paris Jazz Festival 2007. They played selections from “The Magic Hour” and from the latest album: “From the Plantation to the Penitentiary”.
The concert was beautiful and a lot of people attended the performance in the lovely Parc Floral, in the middle of the Bois de Vincennes. We also shot some video clips for you, and we’ll publish them soon in the podcast section.
This morning we are leaving for Marciac where Wynton is going to play concerts with the Quintet, the Septet and he also will give masterclasses.
