On September 18-20, 2008, Jazz at Lincoln Center opened its 2008-09 season, with master of jazz piano, Ahmad Jamal, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performing in Rose Theater.

As you know, Wynton and the JLCO are touring USA to perform the music of Duke Ellington…Now the band is playing in California (Check the next dates).

Wynton was at the Barbican (London) yesterday night, with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. The concert was reviewed by the Evening Standard, by The Independent, the Times Online, the Guardian Unlimited and the Telegraph.

On June 20, Wynton appeared on “Tavis Smiley” to help promote his new CD, Congo Square. During the interview, Wynton and Tavis Smiley discussed Wynton’s passion for education as he is the co-founder and artistic director of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Program. Wynton also talked about his new album. He described it as “We are rejoining with the spirit of African Music.”.
