Video and photo from the New Orleans-style second-line parade

On October 18 2004, at 10 am Wynton led a swinging group of musicians down the Broadway, on their way to the new Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Those in the New Orleans-style parade, as well as citizens of Manhattan and tourists belted out “When the Saints Go Marching In.” Office workers clapped from open windows.
Some even started to jitterbug on the street as the musicians paraded from Lincoln Center’s Josie Robertson Plaza to the new Jazz at Lincoln Center marquee located on Broadway at 60th Street.

The Wynton Marsalis Quartet in Marciac

Tomorrow, July 6, like every year, Wynton will be in Marciac with his Quartet to play in the famous French Jazz Festival.
The Wynton Marsalis Quartet personnel is:

Wynton Marsalis (trumpet)
Eric Lewis (piano)
Carlos Henriquez (bass)
Herlin Riley (drums)

Wynton plays with his new quartet

On June 3 and 4, Wynton led a quartet at the Iron Horse for four packed shows Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
He brought along pianist Eric Lewis, drummer Ali Jackson Jr., and bassist Carlos Enriquez, and the quartet performed a seven-tune set, followed by a single song encore.
Most of the compositions played at the first Tuesday show were so new that Wynton hadn’t named them yet, and they included a sprightly New Orleans shuffle, a playful swing largely built around a one-note melody, and even one speedy “out”.
