Congo Square tour started on June 14 from Rochester. Here is a review of the concert by Democrat and Chronicle. Wynton was also interviewed by the Philadelphia Tribune for the concert in Philadelphia (review by the Philadelphia Inquirer), by the Pocono Record for the event at the Mountain Laurel Center in Bushkill, and by WCPN Ideastream (mp3 audio) for the upcoming concert in Cleveland (June 18). In the interview fro WCPN, Ideastream music director Bobby Jackson caught up Yacub Addy’s wife and manager, Amina as well as Wynton, who talked about Congo Square and the African connections.

Wynton about the “Chops” documentary at Tribeca Film Festival

On April 26, Wynton participated in a Q&A session at Tribeca Film Festival, with the filmmakers of Chops, a documentary film directed by Bruce Broder that follows a Florida high school jazz band’s journey to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival.

Wynton speaks about Congo Square on JALC Radio

On Jazz at Lincoln Center Radio, the currently featured show is Congo Square.

Wynton interviewed by the Boston Herald

The Boston Herald has just published a new interview to Wynton about his new album: From the Plantation to the Penitentiary.
Wynton is in Boston today to play at Symphony Hall with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
This is the last date of the “The Songs We Love” tour. On March 29, 30, 31, Wynton will play the same concert at Rose Theater, in New York City.

Wynton’s concert in Savannah reviewed

On March 24, Wynton was in Savannah with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to play as Savannah Music Festival. Here is an article about the concert by Savanna Morning News
Before the concert, Wynton made a brief appearance at 514 West, a restaurant on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to say a few words about King Oliver.
The event culminated in the unveiling of a plaque in Oliver’s honor. The plaque was affixed to the exterior of the restaurant’s historic brick wall. Here is a small video about Wynton’s tribute for King Oliver.

Saturday night, March 17, Wynton played at Civic Hall in Richmond with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra.
