Antwerp 2008: Photo and video from the sound check
Wynton and his quintet o played at the sound check this morning, for the concert that will start at 9 PM at Jazz Middelheim Festival in Antwerp (Belgium). Wynton was also interviewed by the national TV and Radio of Belgium. Following you can check some photos and short video clip from the sound check.

They performed: Free To Be, The Magic Hour, Big Fat Hen, Sophie-Rose Rosalee, A Sailboat in the Mooonlight, Doin’ (Y)Our Things.
They also played a blues with Toots Thielemans as special guest.

Un concert fabuleux ! Je n’ai pas de point de référence, puisque c’est la première que je le voyais en concert, mais quelle merveille. Seul ombre au tableau, l’intervention de Toots Thielemans… pas fan, personnellement, même si je vis en Belgique. Great concert, thanks!

I attended the concert in Antwerp and it was really great! Wynton and his colleagues were outstanding, the atmosphere was marvellous. Certainly a night to remember. Thanks for the wonderful music Mr. Marsalis!! Belgium loves you. come back quickly, please.

I haven’t been to many Jazz Festivals yet and hence do not know a whole lot jazz musicians but I have to admit, when I saw Wynton and his quintet last night in Middelheim, I was deeply impressed. The show was excellent and especially the final song sent me through the roof, just awesome!!!

The music played in them honors “silver star”.
