Now that’s some Jazz to take a look at. The Montreal show was also the one featured in the Iconoclasts episode filmed for Sundance. Mr. Marsalis can sure get down when the Congo Square is playing, taking us right back to Armstrong Park. That all juiced up New Orleans on any Sunday for how long was it? A hundred years or more? Juicy just like a long simmerin’ gumbo on Mardi Gras.

Check out what the NY Times printed today
It’s called “Urban Gumbo”, about the deep roots of Congo Square.

Now!That is something to watch. I saw Wynton on Spike Lee’s documentary about Hurricane Katrina and I just enjoyed the extras, which is him dancing. I can’t wait my collection is getting healthy…

Well, I got my Congo Square double CD three weeks ago and have not stopped playing it. Tonight I got my Congo Square DVD from that fantastic performance I was so privileged to be a part of. The DVD captures that magical evening and brought back a lot of great memories from an unforgetable night in Montreal. If you do not have it yet - the DVD or the double CD, I suggest you run to get both, music does not get any better than this.
