I am a fanatic of Wynton’s music. Come to think how I got introduced to him. An old friend of mine, boughtme two Wynton’s cd’s, I don’t remember them. I refuse to remember that experience. I hated both cd’s and returned them the next day and told my friend “Takethis nonsense”. Remember then I was still a “fusion” “Funk” person, whatever that is. But I came across a collection with thesong : Freedom is in the trying”. Wow! That blew my mind off. I wentback to my friend and APOLOGISED for my stupidity.
After that I went on a shopping spree of Wynton’s Music. Wynton taught me how to listen and what to listen for in Jazz thrugh the DVD Blues and Swing.
If at all I could come to America, I would want to come to a place where Wynton plays, not even to disturb him by talking to him, but to have the feel of his surround. Keep it up!

Thank you Wynton. Many of us have struggled to try to transcribe some of that early stuff (think J mood and Black Codes) with mixed results.
Your musicians were so incredible that it’s sometimes impossible to tell what you wrote for them…they are really making it their own (as I’m sure you wanted.)
I just spent $45. I’m sure I’ll spend more as time goes by!

Luigi, this is a very tall order, but I would be very interested in buying a complete score of one of Wynton’s ling-form pieces (In This House, Citi Movement, Blue Interlude, etc.)
I’m sure it would be expensive, but well worth it in my opinion!

To be confirmed…
