Wynton playing the music of Gil Evans at JALC
On October 25, 26, 27 , at Rose Theater, the JLCO with Wynton Marsalis eases into the lilting, richly textured and deeply romantic world of one of jazz’s pre-eminent arrangers and the master of impressionistic sound, the legendary Gil Evans with selections from Sketches of Spain, Porgy and Bess and more.
Wynton will rehearse the music for the concert with the JLCO on October 23, 24, at Rose Theater.
More info about tickets on JALC web site or through the box office: 212-721-6500.

So I checked out the JALC website and checked out that posting about the Gil Evans series, but what is the truth about that jumpshot? Was it Wynton or Branford? As for the goodlooks, my vote goes for the Maestro…

Oh, I love the picture of Wynton playing Maracas! The review says that there were 27 musicians on stage for an expanded JALC Orchestra. Are there any pictures that we can see?
