Wynton and JLCO started the Jazz Masterpieces Tour
Yesterday September 8, 2007, Wynton and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) were in Baltimore to start their “Jazz Masterpieces Tour” across North America (from September 8 through October 3).
Tomorrow they will play in Morgantown (WV). Check the complete tour schedule with more info about venues.

Hi Guys,
Love the stuff you do on Wynton!!! Went to the concert last night in Baltimore had a BLAST!!! Will be attending the Morgantown (my hometown area) concert as well. The band was in serious form, playing the works of Trane’, Bud Powell and works by Altoist Steve Nash. Hung with Wynton after the concert (I had a lesson with him way back in 1994), and we talked a bit. He is ALWAYS so gracious to other musicians and fans. It was great watching him interact with everyone. His brother Ellis was hanging, as was jazz pianist Larry Willis. Larry took the stage at the end and played some swingin’ blues!
Anyway, I will gladly post some pictures upon my return on Tuesday.

WOW is the Word! I attended Wynton’s JLCO Jazz Concert at Shriver Hall at Hopkins! Wynton’s band definitely separates the “Professionals from the Amateurs”!! I was able to personally meet Wynton after the concert and took pictures also!!
Wynton, you are definitely anointed and covered with the word of “MUSIC”!!
Great Production! Great Music! Your music has definitely blessed my ears!! “WOW” is the Word!!

WOW is right! I saw the show at Ferguson Center in Newport News, Va on September 12. This is truly a gifted group of musicians and I hope they record one of these sessions while the group is still together. It looks like the new Seven Shades album will capture much of the show, but the live performances were something special!

Went to the Master Class on September 16th in Memphis at Overton High School. I thought Mr. Marsalis did an awesome job. My 12 year old son was so motivated, he actually practiced the trumpet that night! He has been practicing morning and night every since and has joined the jazz band at Snowden Middle School. Thanks for being a inspiration!
