Wynton featured in a new song by Zachary Richard

Last week, during the press conference at the 21st Festival International de Louisiane, Zachary Richard and Francis Cabrel showed a video (Quicktime needed) for their French hit song, La Promesse Cassée (The Broken Promise).
Richard and Cabrel’s slow, mournful ballad, laced with the trumpet of Wynton, surrounds black-and-white images of solemn faces and shattered homes from hurricane-affected areas of south Louisiana.
Lyrics in French and English translations are also available.

Very moving piece: the French poetry more lyrical and imploring than the English translation. Thank you. G.

In any language, the aftermath of that day and what continues to happen in New Orleans today is heartbreaking and expressed beautifully in this song. Very touching.
