I go to Douglas Anderson, being there and around so much amazing talent really doesn't give you as much perspective because you are always surrounded by so much talent. It's kind of like when you eat chocolate to much and grow dull to the flavor. I'm glad that the Jazz students got that once in a life-time experience. When I step back and come back from summer or winter break I can listen with a fresh ear and really appreaciate the talent that they all possess. I too have competed in Essentially Ellington, and I think it is good that a movie was finally made on EE. It brings to light all the dedication and practice hours put into the music.
