Wynton does a great job representing the importance of culture in all of its capacity. He speaks of the evolution of culture and our recognition of the greats preserved due to their art and legacy. I believe that Wynton has articulated an excellent platform from which those of us dedicated can push forward to formulate a cohesive vision for a reconfigured national cultural policy.

Wynton’s advocacy of both arts and arts education is truly outstanding. He is one of the few musicians who is passionate about both the arts and education, not only in his words, but also through his actions. The way he encourages young musicians and spends time giving mini lessons and speaking to anyone who make it backstage after his shows sets an example that hopefully more will follow.

Please provide a complete transcript of Wynton’s Nancy Hanks’ lecture at Kennedy Center March 30th. His words were magical and the impact of his ideas about enlightened arts education was breathtaking.

Our Country really needs to “step it up” in regards to funding, education and support of the Arts. It’s so great having a treasure like Wynton representing!
