Thanks for the heads up! I teach music in NH and was doing some research on Marsalis. I came across this article at about 10:25 this morning and was able to go into the other room just in time to catch his performance at Ground Zero - a very stirring performance. How lucky I was to stumble upon the site just in time to catch it!

From what i caught he played, “Down by the Riverside”; “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and…hmmm…my memory is failing but it was a moving medley.

Moving indeed. His musical tribute was fitting in both honoring those who lost their lives and uplifting us on such a somber day. The memories of that day have remained with me and being there and seeing the aftermath is something I will never forget. Wynton’s soulful playing moved me to tears and made me smile, thankful I am still here.
