Wynton and the new Louisiana Tourism Campaign
The Louisiana state rolled out a star-studded, $7 million advertising campaign Tuesday to lure tourists back to Louisiana and boost the sluggish economy along the hurricane-ravaged coast.
Called “Fall in Love with Louisiana All Over Again,” the campaign consists of a commercial and half-dozen print ads.
Chef Emeril Lagasse, professional golfer David Toms, actor John Goodman and Wynton Marsalis and Allen Toussaint are among the celebrities with Louisiana connections appearing in a TV commercial that thanks Americans for their hurricane recovery efforts and asks that they return to enjoy the state’s art, food and music.
Check out Wynton in the lovely print ad (PDF - 2.2 mb) and TV commercial (Quicktime or Windows Media).

Nice commercial. Curious to know if the scenes in the commercial are post Katrina and how the rebuilding efforts are going. Unfortunately, I’ve never been to New Orleans, so I’m not familiar with the city. Were most of the scenes filmed in the French Quarter? Who is the other trumpeter in the commercial beside Wynton?

Lovely. Just lovely. I liked John Goodman. I liked the snapshots of all the places. Those shots just can’t be pre-Katrina, could they? Like that Wynton opened and closed the commercial. A handsome chap and dapper too!

I have to agree Jurzy. Wynton definitely is a handsome and dapper chap in the ads. The smile at the end caused a slight flutter of the heart.
