Wynton played for Tony Bennett in Washington
Yesterday, December 4, Tina Turner and Tony Bennett, two legends of American music, earned accolades from a broad array of pop and jazz stars during the Kennedy Center Honors.
Tony Bennett was saluted by Wynton with performances of standards: “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”.

I loved Wynton’s performance of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” at the Kennedy Center Honors. Who was his pianist?

The pianist is Dan Nimmer. He is currently part of Wynton’s quartet/quintet. Excellent pianist at such a young age. Wynton’s rendition of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” was simply beautiful. It is always a pleasure to see him perform

Now that I have Dan Nimmer’s name I can follow his career more closely. I want to hear much more of his work. Thanks, Sonalii.

I would like to know if I can buy a copy
of that take of( I left my Heart in San Francisco) on any of Mr. Marsalis’s recordings? Any current releases?

I am also looking for a place where I can purchase a copy of the version of “I left my heart in San Francisco” played at the Kennedy Center Honors.

I too would love to get a copy of the version of “I Left my Heart in San Francisco” played at the Kennedy Center honors for Tony Bennett. The concept of the arrangement was so hip, so pure…I may have to record it myself! Keep up the good work.
