Video clips from Wynton’s new album !
Dear friends, exclusively for our fan club, and thanks to the guys of House of Tribes, we can show you some video-clips from the 12/15/2002 session. This video was made at House of Tribes at the same time the new album (in store on August 30, 2005) was being recorded.
It was directed by: Jeff Jones “The Jedi Master” (who also recorded the album) and was lit and shot by Director of Photography/Cameraman, Chuck Fishbein and Beth Garrigal.

What a treat! Music and video! Liked seeing him warm up on the first song, liked seeing him into his “groove” on a few of the others. Cherokee might well be my favorite from what I’ve heard but it’s hard to tell…all great!
Thanks a bundle Luigi!

No sound for me Luigi. What is this? I must be too keen because I keep getting technical hitches. You have done well to provide fans with the videos. Thanks
How can I access sounbd? I apologize again-I am not totally computer literate

The audio of the video clips works perfectly

How I get the sound. I played a track last night it was fine. We’ve had storms but all else seems okay. Which checks need to be on MP3 Video?. All I can think is that it says apple on the quick time link up I have. Would this affect playback?

Luigi-

Great videos….is the HoT selling the video of the performance as well? I was just waiting for Eric to rip into his solo, but the video is too short

The visuals have only heightened my anticipation for this new album. Hearing him play What is this thing called love is a first for me. Thoroughly enjoyed all the clips. As always, another great album from an even greater artist!

I don’t know if anybody noticed, but check out the “Cherokee (B)” clip….for a while Wynton was double-tonguing those runs!

Hmmmm…..I played drums that night with Wynton on Caravan and on a New Orleans sytle tune…..I’m not quite sure why I received credit on the album, if so…but it is joy to watch and Joe Farnworth is good as it could get…..Wynton Marsalis change the lives of many young musicians …including myself….I love him dearly as a freind and mentor.

Did you notice Wynton’s expression after he said that? Definitely not something you would expect to hear at a Wynton Marsalis performance.

On the Caravan clip, I found it interesting that Wynton tried to rally the band behind him by yelling, “Come on, come on.”
I guarantee you that he wouldn’t have to have said that if Herlin Riley was playing behind him!

For the comment about Wynton saying…let’s go…couldn’t possibly be refering to just me. If you where there you would get what I’m saying….I must say though, Herlin Riley is Wynton’s favorite drummer and rightfully so….but I can hold my own with anyone….

Yeahhhhhhhh, I finally got a chance to hear these mini clips, and the very little that is there sounds fresh, relaxed and natural, with some nice emotion on “What is this thing called love”. The double tonguing on “Cherokee” is even hot, and well, the “kiss ass” comment from an enthusiastic audience member, is just one of the way some people encourage musicians;-).
Looking forward to the whole thing.
Thanks Luigi and “The House of Tribes”, for the preview of these nice treats.

Robert, I wasn’t just referring to you. I was quite impressed with your playing ability. Wynton’s “normal” band has played together for so long, that they just sort of know what each other likes in a given situation.
Sorry if I didn’t explain myself clearly.

Yeah you right CJD, there is a little mis-communication with rhythm section, as I tried to play a third below the time on the break. Actually. something Herlein tuaght me.

These clips are wonderful, but I’d like the full video for each/all of these songs. Are they available anywhere? I’d be more than willing to purchase them, but can’t find them for sale anywhere.
